About Leadership - The Daring Way™
Leadership - The Daring Way™ is a highly experiential, evidence-based training program built upon the breakthrough methodology and research of Dr. Brené Brown. The method was developed to help men, women, and adolescents learn how to show up, be seen, and live braver lives. The primary focus is on developing a courage practice that transforms the way leaders engage, collaborate and excel together. The program can be facilitated in professional settings and is suitable for work with individuals, work teams and organizational leaders to unlock greater potential, collaboration, innovation, motivation and success.
Leadership is all about relationships and to be in relationship (with anyone) is to be vulnerable. Every single day, leaders are called to navigate uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure – the only choice is to do it consciously or unconsciously; to lean into the vulnerability or to push it away. Vulnerability is the core of difficult emotions, but it is also the birthplace of creativity and innovation, adaptability to change and accountability.
When leaders chooses self-protection over transparency or when money and metrics are more valued than authentic relationships and values or when our self-worth is only attached to what we produce, then learning and working becomes dehumanized. People disengage and turn away from the very things that the world needs: their talent, their ideas, and their passion.
The equation is simple: Invulnerability in leadership breeds disengagement in culture.
Re-humanizing work and educational opportunities requires courageous leadership. It requires leaders who are willing to take risks, embrace vulnerabilities, and show up as imperfect, real people.
